They are the same size. Its what's inside that make them different.

The F1 flows a 125 more CFM than the D1, but the biggest difference is the F1's step ratio of 5.4:1. This means that the boost will come in at lower RPMs than the D1.

F1A is a bad *** blower-but if your doing it go right to the f1c-runs cooler and no messing with adapters for the inlet.

i get that much, i want to use a F1A or C on a project im working on, but a D1 is a tight fit as it is with a C5 kit. i wondered if i could upgraded it to the F1A without it getting bigger. if its the same physical size that would be amazing. so its true the D1 and F1 are the same size? is the F1A and F1C the same size?

The F and F-1A have the same diameter as the P-1SC and the D-1SC. The F and the F-1A are approx .38 longer, no real problem. The F and F-1A have the same inlet diameter.

The F-1C and F-1R are both larger than the F and F-1A blowers. That page I gave a link to above shows these differences. The F-1C and F-1R also have a slightly larger inlet diameter. It is 4.00" instead of 3.75". Bob

does the F1 and the F1A make more heat? the reason i ask is its going to be basictly right in the radiator. im using a C5 LS1 kit in a 68 firebird. i know a D1 fits and works, but i want to step up. the car is driven alot, thats why im asking.

We have seen higher inlet air temps with a D-1SC being pushed to it's max than an F-1A running at those same boost levels. Bob
