Default 59cc patriot heads with a procharger?

I just had heads and cam done on my 99 z28 dyno was 410 to the wheels on a mustang dyno but now im looking for more power and heres the problem that I have. I got the 59cc patriot heads witch is supposed to raise the compression to 11.1 and i would like to do a procharger just 5lbs would satisfy me. Do you guys think this is safe?

I guess it could be done but the timing and tune would have to be dead on. I would never put a blower on a car with that much compression, but thats just me.

For 5 lbs, you don't need 9:1 CR. I'm running 5.3 heads on my motor this year...but its forged with -8.6cc pistons for a 10:1 CR.

11.1:1 CR is a bit high, but people put blowers on stock LS6 (10.5 CR) and LS2's (10.9?). What cam did you go with? You could probably get away with it with a spot-on tune and intercooled and/or meth with a P1SC.

I think if you did boost that you should have a tuner dial it in perfect and run a **** load of water/meth. to help keep the detnation down.

I'm thinking about the same thing with my set up in sig. Est comp @ 10.9-11.0. Should be able to run 5lbs boost with meth and a good tune.

I'm thinking the same thing. Forged shortblock will be about a year or two out for me. I want the car to last until then.

LQ9's should just get cheaper and cheaper you can find em now under a thousand i suppose thats what I should do. I had my heads and cam done by mongillo motors in new haven CT he specializes in sts setups and he said that he doesnt even feel comfortable installing an sts system on a ls based motor any more hes has had 3 throw a rod while dynoing. but moral of the story is all he uses is the 6.0 L he is trying for over a 1000 horsein his gto streetable twin turbo sts setup check out the sight if you get a chance i beleive it is www.mongillomotors.com

About year, but I just swiched over to E-85. As others have said, anytime you add FI to a motor that wasn't built for it it's a crap shoot on how long it will last. There's not person here that will tell you the stock 10 bolt will hold even a stock motor, yet mine is still intact at over 600 Rwhp. If you want it to last you can't drive it like you stole it.

That is pretty good a year you should take that car to lower altitudes and run it see what you get that would just **** me off knowing I have that much power and only running in the 13s you should be in the low 11s altitude sucks

That was before I adjusted the timing. I actually picked up 200 rwtq at 4400 rpm. That should make a big difference.

I like New England Dragway better. And the car is getting the tranny rebuilt this week. I have an opportunity to get a procharger P1SC off a friends car for a good price for just the head unit and I would have to piece the rest of the kit together. He is going to an F1 on his car.

I've pieced my entire kit together. Like rufretic said in one of his threads, its not really much cheaper than the kits, if any, when all is said and done, but you can put some upgraded parts in the list and build it how you want.
