lifting the heads can be controlled with proper tunning and or larger head studs or stonger material.

Valve float is controlled by having the proper valve springs for the cam, there is no such a thing as piston float.

Other things to look into are o-ringing the heads and block or 6 bolt heads and block. If your running close to 1000 whp or under, a good set of thick deck heads and a good tune should be doable without lifting.

from my understanding o rings have nothing to do with lifting the heads, they are there to keep combustion gasses from pressurizing the coolant system, in the event the heads to move a bit.

That is correct. Just a suggestion if your going to use stock heads like he asked about. Not enough info to really give any good advice.

how many lbs of boost do you plan on running? If your at 16-18 or under you can get away with normal 4 bolt/cylinder heads and what everyone else had mentioned.

if you wanna push it you might want to look into the warhawk block or something else with 6 bolts/head.
