Default Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got my d1 setup and front mount on my car my car has 408 dart heads etc. Car put down a little over 700. Drove fine whenn i went a picked it up and drove it around all day in raleigh where the shop was that does all my work. As soon as i get home it starts ******* up spark plugs by dentonation. Ive changed like four set of plugs since last night. The car has had tr8's, and br7ef's, now i think it has autolite 103's do i need to put race gas mix or is something wrong with tune. I think just adding race mix will stop the detnation. Thanks for any inputs guys.

Well the load on the dyno will be different than on the street! 11.5 on the dyno could be a 12.5 on the street. I would also say to much timing or maybe even bad gas??

I would try a new tank of gas first to just see if it works. You also should consider picking a good wideband. It never hurts to keep an eye on things. If the gas and the afr's are good then I would take it back to the tuner and let then check it out.

Hopeful it was just a bad tank of gas. I have had truckers tell me that if the get to a station and they have too much of 1 octane that they'll have them put it in another tank (mixing the gas/octanes).

If the race gas solves it, and it comes back again when you fill it up with pump, then it sounds like too much timing. I'd probably pull like 6 degrees, drive it a while in different conditions to get a feel for it, then start adding it back a degree at a time. Any detonation bad enough to mess up 4 sets of plugs is bad ****. Can you actually hear it pinging?

May be time for a meth setup.

The Diamond Shamrock stations in San Antonio had a batch of kerosene or diesel (I don't remember which) in their premium tanks a couple of years ago. The resulting lawsuits made the news. Hopefully he just got a bad tank of gas.
