Default ETP Heads causing clearance issues with my OFI Kit

Just started the install of my OFI kit tonite. The driver's side header is hitting the fendwell and the passenger side is resting on the heater hoses. Has anyone else had these problems. I should be able to redo the heater hoses but the fendwell is gonne be tough. Not much room in there to BFH it.

What heads are you running brad? I know the kit fits b/c I tried it on the shop car before I sent it out. I wonder what the issue is with it? I have had 3 people have this proplem before though. One was my fault and the others were they were using taller deck heads which will push the headers out farther and up. Let me know. If need be I can visit and take a look to help out

Also your other stuff was shipped.

Thanks Joel

I'm running ETP 225 heads. The taller deck may be the trouble. If you look on the driver's side there are 2 or 3 'ridges' that stick out. It's catching on the middle ridge.

I was just gonna pm you Jerry. I remembered you switched to etp's. How were you able to mount the headers? The only thing I can see is to flatten or dent the header right there and I really hate to do that.

No there has been none that I know of. The two kits are totally differnet. The clearence issue is not of the kit, its the heads that he is using. The ETP heads are taller then the stock heads or any aftermarket head that I know of. The kit was built around those heads not ETP heads.

Thanks Joel

You should be ok..The AFR's are just a thicker deck not taller.

Id appreciate it, Im looking at doing a forged 383 with a LE head and cam package and was looking at the STS kit, but the more and more I look into it, it just seems like such a pain in the *** so I was looking into the OFI kit so Im hoping that it works out well for you.....good god that thing is expensive though
