Default Went to the track

Took the car to the track yesterday to try out the new setup, big thanks to Larry and the guys at Speed Inc. for their help and hard work. I havent gotten the drag rims yet so I am still running the 17" nitto's, 60' time was still I think pretty good. Next up when the money is availiable is a FMIC some more boost and definately a set of 15" drag rims and good set of tires. New setup is a 408 w/ D1SC @ 11.5 psi, 3940 race weight with my fat *** in it

R/T-------.588
60'-------1.627
330------4.513
1/8th----6.919
MPH------102.10
1000'----9.004
1/4-------10.775
MPH------129.21

The car is heavy and you're on 17's but I have to say I'm not very impressed with the times. Most 408's are running that good NA. Your 60' is pretty good for 17" nittos.

sorry to see others knock the combo, but it is heavy and a rather mild combo

mild cam
low boost

This being your first time out in o.k weather is good and will only get better.

I dont sweat it at all Larry but thanks for the backup. I am quite happy with it, like you said mild cam and low boost. It is and for the forseeable future will be a street car. I had the loopey idle car and I had the stiff *** feel every pebble in the road car and now I have a (aside from the blower whine) fairly unassuming street car. She drives as well or better than when she was stock and still moves out plenty fast. Everyone has their opinion and different ideas of what they want and like, I saw/see no reason for now to push the thing to the edge and have to worry about breaking things. Speed built what I asked for and I am more than happy with that.

I'm impressed, sorry to see people doggin' a 10 sec. street car. I've got a really small cam (214/224) in a 429 but it idles and drives like stock and that's what I like.

Thanks, I know she has more in her aside from better tires I need to get some more seat time in it. Any way ya look at it going from a best last year of a 12.1 (old setup) to a 10.77 I was very happy.

Geez ss girl, 10's on nittos and almost 130mph first time out is pretty good in most folk's opinion. Plus he's at like 3900 raceweight.

There's no doubt a 10 sec door slammer is a hell of a car but I have to agree. A blown 408 running high 10's doesn't seem too special to me. As long as you are happy though that's all that matters. Speed Inc came through and did the job again.

He didn't say it was special. I'd rather have my street car with a mild cam, mild stall and all options than a stripped, loose stalled, rough idling car that I called a street car that was more like a race car.

yep...he wanted a fast car, very reliable with lots more potential when the need comes and he got it!

w/ a tire this car will go 40-50's easily at the same weight and boost

I drove the car Friday and was more then happy at how smooth it drives. The car has everything else needed to make some serious power and get down the track.

Whenever you get what you planned for, congratulations are in order. Most of us try a few times, modify, adjust, and don't get quite the results we hope for. Good job to you and LS1 Speed!

Wow, if you aint running 7s, or 8s around here I guess you get no love lol.

As long as you are having fun thats all that matters, 130mph should get you into a 10.40 range once you get the 60 foot down and I dont care what anyone says thats a quick street car..

DITTO.....I think that's impressive...my street car is close in weight and I'm plenty happy with 10's especially on a M6.
