Are boost control solenoids polarity sensitive?

Are boost control solenoids polarity sensitive? Started wiring up my boost controller and the wiring harness for the solenoids was cut off. Both solenoids just have 2 black wires going into the harness. Does it matter which one goes where? If it does how can I tell which is + and -?
