Default boost and ping probs ... Help needed!

1:Will a comp cam with a lsa of 112 be ok with a turbo set up or will it bleed off too much pressure?
i've had this cam in my motor since i last rebuilt it...
i have the ebay clone as some o' ya'll may already know...
reason i ask is because i've been experienceing over boosting i want 8psi..but was seeing 8-12 boosts,
i switched to a 5# w/g spring and i still see 7-11 psi...
i've doubled up t-bolt clamps in some places, and i have checked and/or replaced any pressure leaking injector o-rings...
if the boost spike is due to a leak and not the cam..then where the hell should i look next for leaks?...
motor doesn't smoke, i dont loose coolant..

2: I also am experienceing a lite gas ping just as motor starts to load and build boost in any gear usualy for first loaded 1,000rpm of gear.....example"say your going 0-xxmph and start to slowly accelrate and .......there it is

Thats no good, you have a gate placement, size, or reference issue. Pinging under boost will lead to blown engine.

I would start by measuring backpressure and get an EGT gauge on it.

ignition timing curve may be off.

try adding 100 octane unleaded and see if it helps.

I have the kit that yours was copied from for quite some time. I have the turbosmart 38mm race gate and megasonic BOV found here: http://www.forcedinductions.com/product5.htm and don't have any boost creep at all, but I likely have a different turbo so it may be apples to oranges.

What size turbo? gate may be to small. Especially being a knock off gate, i would be scared of it. Im guessing no boost controller? just running off the wastegate spring? I have heard of some electronic boost controllers having pretty bad boost creep.

good luck
Chris
ps.. Also as stated, it might just be where the wastegate is placed could be causing boost creep. Do you have pics of your install. Might help a little.

what's with the tight *** .68 A/R? You steal it off an STS car?

My 76GTS is has an 0.96 A/R so by nature yours will come on quicker, and is a bad comparison.

tight as in, why are you running such a tight A/R? It makes things come on sooner but it becomes more restrictive up top.
