Default Blower grind cam from A&A

What do you guys think of this cam I got from A&A for my vette?

220/234-117LSA

When I install it do you think I should advance the cam any? Like 2 degree's? Just curious what you guys think. Its going in a stock bottom LS1.

Install it straight up. No need to advance or retard it.

I don't the 117 centerlines-they kill torque, I would do a 222/228 on a 113+4 or a 224/230 113+4

Hey Arun, why would you suggest the advance on the cams?

If you want lots of torque then you need some decent DCR-DCR+OVERLAP+BOOST=BIG POWER!!!!!

Man, that's an odd duration/split/LSA choice. There are a lot of other choices out there that would be equally mannered and not leave as much on the table.

LOL. That is exactly what I thought when Andy recommended it. People that have it are making good power with it though.

I'm not going to worry about it too much. If I'm not happy with it, I'll just change it. I spoke to Arun about a cam. If this one doesnt put out, I'll go with his recommendation.

The split in the intake and exhaust duration has a lot to do with the heads that are on the motor. Most heads are not setup for a blower engine so they tend to be more biased to the ehaust duration. Lobe seperation always seems to be wrong on blower cams too, think more N/A IMO.

How are you liking that cam? I spoke to LG about that cam and they wouldn't tell me squat about it. Said it was "top secret" so I looked else where. How is the drivability and sound of the cam? Have you cam doctored it?

I couldn't agree more!

Nothing wrong with that cam Jon, Andy is just way to mild for me-he know's it but 99.9% of customers want that and he does a good job of keeping them happy.

I like cams geared more to N/A-believe it or not-they work better on pump gas! Overlap does have purpose.

I bought a G5XB cam today. I'll run that instead of the 220/234.

I wonder why those G5XB Cam specs are "sooo" secret... Not sure what the big deal is..

We've done a Cam with alot of overlap, and it put down 640RWHP 590RWTQ Corrected.. 2001 Z-28 Stock motor, Mods are D1SC 10lbs with 3" Twin intercoolers. Custom Cam, Headman Headers, Off road Y, SLP Loudmouth, Custom Tune and Strange 12 Bolt w/3.73's.
