Depends on your piston choice, also what kind of power you want to make. Not the number on the boost gauge.

I did stock 317's on my last 8.5:1 370ci. Made over 770rwhp at 15lbs of boost with a TC76.

The new shop car is getting a 9.8:1 370 with stock 317's. Shooting for over 775rwhp. Bigger turbo this time around.

Ona budget, use some 317's as stated and then buy a good rear end. The 4l60e if it is upgraded should hold you at the 700rwhp mark. That seem to be about the limit. You shouldn't break hard parts in the tranny,it's just that the clutches will not hold, from my experience with them. If you want to keep the overdrive, then you can buy a basicly stock 4L80e and you will be fine.

If this tranny was in a vette, then I would say ok, but in a f-body, due to the weight they just don't handle the power. Mine lasted over 800rwhp on the dyno, but then turned it down for the street use, and that was around the 750rwhp mark.
