Default how runs 10psi with stock LS6?

Hello guys,

I have cts-v which has LS6. My current set up is maggie, cam, headers and cat back. in past my car put down 489rwhp with 7pounds of boost and wanted to know if i can run 10psi with stock LS6 long block except camshaft. i have checked around and found mixed stories and wanted to hear from people actually run 10psi or more with there stock ls6.

thanks

yea it seems 500 ish seems to be the limit.. You have the ls6 valve springs which should help with the float issue if any. Id be more concerened of getting bad gas, and detonation.

get a wideband in the car, and keep your eye on it. I think it could be done for a while, but im not sure how safely.

I was running 9.5 #s on a stock ls1 w/ 10.5:1 compression. car made 480/480 w/stock manifolds and cats. I just put on the ARHeaders (1-7/8) and lost 1.5 #s. I plan on re-pulleying it back to 9.5 #s. I am also going to spray 75-100 on top of that.

if you want to push 10psi i would get some cheap 317 heads dual valve spring and a new tune you would pick up alot more than you think but this is just my 2 cents

Not true, maggies like compression if your worried about the compresssion then an alchy kit is you best bet. 317s will drop your compression to about 9.5:1. 10.5 is better for the maggie.

My car was tuned by vengeance and has great driveability and no detonation also I am not running meth yet.

No problem! maggies like higher compression, I know its not conventional FI thinking but it really seems to be the case!
