LT1 boost questions......
So anyways, I got a wild hair in my *** and have decided to go with my gut feeling. After track day on August 9th I will be parting out my whole nitrous setup and getting rid of everything.....to go boost.
I am looking to do a single front mount turbo. I have a stock shortblock that will also be forged via Compstar products with CR being around 8.5:1 or 9:1.
As far as heads and cam go, I have LE2 heads now with a LE2.2 cam and might be going with a different setup, I will have to talk to Lloyd. The intake will be a single plane with elbow.
Now, the real question is this. My buddy and I are going to be fabbing up the kit ourselves. He has experience since he built his whole TT setup from scratch.
I DO NOT want to lose the AC or move the radiator. I was thinking about putting the turbo around the area where the air pump used to be. I will be doing the !ABS mod also.
So who out there has fabbed up their own kits with these specs or bought the parts they needed to make it work.
ANY AND ALL input would be greatly appreciated!

I've done just what you see, but kept the ABS also. I'm running a T76GTS and all stock accessories, including the radiator, in the stock locations. I did remove the SMOG stuff, and installed a tubular k-member.

OK, keep the LE2 heads, 4 bolt the bottom end, get some H-beams, drop your compression to 9-9.5:1 and get something in the 76mm range on a T4 housing. you can build a log setup that would accomplish that goal. They tend to give you a little more room around heads which make it a little easier to route the downpipe back under it. Take a look at RealQuicks Kits.
heres a pic of my mocked together hot side on a little T70. its in a thirdgen but the location would be similar to yours.

If you want a good start take a look at the link in my sig. The PTK headers I have I believe were designed to work with full accessories and have put a full weight 6 speed LT1 car in the mid 10s at 140 on a 76gts turbo.

My setup is home-built and laid out very similar to Tricked-out-toys and Realquick's.
The PTK makes you put pusher fans on the car. I've never had any luck with aftermarket radiator fans. My setup keeps the stockers in the stock location.

Yeah and that is one of the things I DON'T want to do is get pusher fans or move the radiator. You guys got some good pics, the guy that is going to be doing most of the fabbing is gonna look at them and see what he thinks.

Look here:

Mine is almost identical to the "log manifold kit". Good enough for 9's!

Yeah I am thinking about doing the Log Manifold kit or the Header kit. I just like the header kit because it is essentially just some Shorty LT1 headers with different flanges.

If your buddy is a good fabricator just have him build you some turbo headers start with some 1/2" flanges and some 1-3/4 or 1-5/8's bends and go to town. once you have the turbo in the position you want spend a solid couple hours playing with a some short scrape bends to get an idea of with itll look like. try mapping out the cleanest easiest route and then go to town. I Spent probably 4-5 hours just staring at the engine bay and playing with a bunch of different bends. The result is a hot side that I can easily work around (change plugs etc) and flows pretty smoothly, It all can be disassembled in 15 mins (headers/logs in and out). planning is the longest part but is probably the easiest place to rush and end up having to redo something....
