135 - 145 MPH folks, what timing and gas are you running?

Yea, PSJ, you sure ask a lot of questions. Your builder should already know the answers to the questions!?
16 to 26 degrees on VP's CSP 108 U/L. We're adding an alcohol/water injection ssytem soon.

John... timing seems to be a contentious issue with FI on these cars. I happen to know Mike Brown's car is only running about 20 degrees with 104 octane, but he is still on the stock bottom end. His best traps are 136mph a 10psi.
Tom Ritchie is running my old bottom end (forged 9:1), so we tried to run the timing up to 29 or 30. It worked OK on the dyno, but he kept lifting the heads at the track and pressurizing the cooling system.
After Tom backed the timing down to around 20-22, he stopped lifting the heads and is now running 10.6s at 128 or so with 104 octane on only 10psi. He should see a little better boost after correcting his pulley issues from the last time out. I bet he runs 10.3s at least this weekend with the cooler weather coming in and more boost.
So, what I am getting at is, it seems to be harder to keep the heads down with the higher timing, and lower timing does not seem to affect the power levels at all. In fact, lower timing seems to make better power. My guess is that only trap speeds, or tuning on a Mustang type dyno will truly reveal your best timing combo.

Cylinder pressure goes up bigtime with a lot of timing.
I plan to run 20 degrees at wot for the baseline, but I would also like to hear what Raymer is running.

john put it on a dyno and find out....every car's timing is different. You should be somewhere in the high teens (on the low) to the mid-high 20s (on the high)
AND
if you do plan to run C16 all the time like you've been saying you shouldn't have a problem running pretty high into the 20s

I thought that was good advice
My personal suggestion would be 100% nitromethane and 45-50 deg timing.

Oh and I bet there are plenty of folks who saw this topic and read it because they wanted to see what the big dawgs are running for timing.
I didn't like Jimmothy's master of the obvious post of course we are going to dyno the car ARE YOU gonna dyno your's too Jimmay or are you all mouth?

Please.
A bunch of folks in here have major combos Dave.
Heck Brady should have run 9's like 5 years ago.
