Default Procharger plenum cracked again...

Well my plenum has cracked for like the 4th time. So I think instead of welding it again I just need to get a new one. Does anyone have a metal plenum for the F-body kit laying around that they don't need anymore. I would really like to get a polished plenum too if someone has one. Please pm me so we can work out the details. Thank you.

Just weld it up.....the box is not the problem.....you need a better bypass

Check out my thread when my box blew up

get rid of it and do a Y setup.
flows better, no broken boxes.
procharger will sell the Y for a very reasonable price and then you just have to come up with a little custom tubing on your own.
we did this on my buddy's car is it's way better than the crappy box ati uses.

Anyone got a picture of it. It sounds like it is better.

I prefer running a TIAL blow (with the stock ATI bypass) .Not a fan of the ATI race valve and how loud it is cruising. The TIAL with the 11lb springs needs 16" of vacuum to open.Perfect to take the pressure off the pipes.

But after it broke the first time did you change the bypass?

The only reason the aluminum plenum will crack is if the bypass cannot vent the air out quick enough.....the air has to go somewhere if the tb is closed....since you have cracked the plenum multiple times you need a better flowing bypass to release the pressure better

Here is a pic of the y set-up though

Yeah, I had changed to the ATI Race valve after the second time. Oh well maybe I will look at it again and throw a Tial on there as well.

with an ati race bypass (red one) you should not be cracking the aluminum plenum....I am running 16psi through my aluminum plenum w/ ati race bypass

maybe bypass needs adjusting.......or isn't working properly

Mine also cracked 2 times. I didn't think I needed to run a bypass at only 8psi. It's wierd that the rubber hoses arn't blowing up. I think a y setup would work nice. Probably faster spool too.

I had the bottom part of my plenum replaced with a 1/4" thick pierce of aluminum and haven't had any problems since. TiAL BOV in the pipe between the TB and Plenum.
