Default Just a little heads up for some....Clutch

Hey guys.I know there seems to be alot of threads in here about clutches.People want it to be streetable but hold the power. If you havent seen my thread in the manual section check it out.Short story is i called up Southbend Clutches and spoke with them about what my needs are(be able to handle bumper to bumper traffic,be good at the track,LAST,hold the power).Got my clutch shipped to my door for $500 with a 12 month 12000 mile warranty that is rated up to 800ft lbs of torque at the wheels.I broke it in then hit the dyno and broke nothing but 600ft lbs of torque Shes beautiful on the street and has held pulls and launches so far.just wanted to share my experience

Mods...there are no sponsors selling this clutch and im not posting any contact info and will keep it that way.thanks

Good to know. I have been looking into these clutches for my TT install and now that someone has been a Guinea pig I think I am going to take the leap. Which one did you go with as there are a few to choose from?

Good info. I personally run the Textralia OZ700 and have found it to be a phenomenal clutch, though not cheap. 20K miles and flawless performance....

Nice to hear there are cheaper alternatives that can hang though

unfortunately, it is only a single. I spoke with Southbend after seeing this post in another section of the forum a while back. I was looking for soemthing that would hold approximately 900 rwhp and 800-900 rwtq. I believe Adam at the shop said they only make a single and did not have anything for that application. Hope they come out with a reasonable priced dual disk in the near future.

they were/are making an alternative to the 1 i have.it will have an exedy pressure plate that has more clamping force i believe but they were on backorder so i have a Luk PP.I dont think this would be the clutch if youre looking for 850rwhp or more, but if youre in the 5,6,7XXrwhp range its a nice $500 clutch.
