roots =broad power range. less boost potential

centrifugal = narrow power range. more boost potential

The centrifical superchargers tend to run cooler than the roots style, since the supercharger is not sitting on top of the engine soaking up all the engine heat. On my Mustang Chassis Dyno a car or truck with a roots style blower will typically lose 50 rwhp after the first run when doing multiple runs. An ATI ProCharger will typically only lose 10 to 15 rwhp on back to back runs. Bob

Definitely not any who expect over 100k miles from the unit. That's reserved for turbos and positive displacement blowers.

If you want gas mileage and reliability to go with your power, don't go FI. There are FI setups that can deliver all of the above, but the initial buy in cost is more than just paying for more gas or doing the occasional rebuild. This really is one of those times when the cliche'd rich guy quote of "if you have to ask" does apply. There is a reason that OEM warrantied 500hp cars cost over twice what you could build it for yourself, and 1000hp OEM cars cost 7 figure price tags. The reliability issue can be a real deal-killer. Time is money, and a lot of people here have reliable big HP cars, but that is only because they keep a keen eye on their setups, and they do a lot of work for themselves.
