Talking Belt Dressing on Procharger belt???

Anyone recommend this? Why or why not. A friend of mine said it will dry the belt. True? or?

I put VHT on my belt to help with slip, it works.

It may help in the short term and as an aid to find exactly what is squeaking, but if used repeatedly I have always heard that it can shorten the life of the belt. Bob

I tried dressing and it didn't work. I installed a Goodyear Gatorback belt and it's working perfectly with no slip at all. Clean the pulleys with brake cleaner before installing it. Also be careful you are not getting a belt that's been sitting in the parts store for the past 5 years-- if it's full of dust when they bring it out, you don't want it.

Having the proper belt, pulley type, and bracket will solve belt slippage correctly. Putting VHT or anything else on the belt to help with slippage is like putting a bandaid on a bullet hole.

If you are doing a dyno pull or need one good hail mary pass with a slipping belt it works. There is even a product they sell just for that, the NMRA renegade guys use it, forget the name. But its more or less VHT.

But it makes a mess and will most definately kill the belt soon, it will pick up all kinds of dust/dirt and stick to the belt.
