I decided to drive my car to the track tonight on my newly acquired M&H 345/35/18 drag radials.
Here are the details of the build-

My car does not have the required NHRA safety equipment and the track warned that I would be kicked out if I went quicker than 11.50. So going into this I knew it would be a one shot deal.
First attempted run I heated the tires, staged the car and brought the revs to around 4500. I then slipped the clutch out at around 5k rpm. The tires stuck, the clutch did not. (slipped the clutch too much and overpowered it). I aborted the run.
My final attempt was a soft launch at around 3500 rpm. Left with no boost and spun a bit in 1st when it came up on power. I decided to run it out anyway to see the MPH. 2nd/3rd/4th gear felt great. Shifted normally, no powershifts.
I was kicked out and told I could not return until I have a certified cage, nhra competition license, fire suit, and parachute. (which will not happen as this is primarily a street car)
Ambient temp was 61 degrees.
I've tuned the car up to 13psi on the dyno where it has made 854rwhp.
I made the runs tonight at the track at 16psi. Total timing was 11.5 degrees. Air/fuel was 11.5 and injectors reached 75% duty cycle.
I really wanted to break into the 9's but I am pleased with the MPH

Holy Moly! Killer mph..can't see how you couldn't do 9s with that mph..heck you should be able to do 8s! And sure they is lots left in it..What was your 60ft?
Pretty funny the getting kicked part and their list. It does get nuts at that mph and when you hit 9s and lower. For sure it turns the car into a full race car unusable on the street with a full cage.
Anyway I would be very very happy with that mph.You make me want to hurry up and finish my car. A couple weeks should be firing it up with any luck.
