Default 9.60 @ 137 on 13psi

Well we went 9.60 at 137 running out of gear at the 1000ft mark in my GTO last night. And that was on a 1.60 60ft... track was pretty slick. My first 60ft was 1.45 and went 9.64 @ 135 letting out shortly after the 1/8th, car felt a little loose on the big end. The car still has a lot left in it, but we were kindly asked to shut it down until I am licensed and certified.

Is this pretty good for only 13psi and running out of gear!? I know I am very impressed with it, just not sure if I am on par with where I need to be. Next time out after licensing we will probably hit it with 16psi or so and see what it does, but I am pretty happy with it for now.

As far as we know it is currently the fastest stock body GTO in the country. And we still have lots of room for improvement! 8.50s are the goal!

325/50/15 MT ET DRs
3.50 gears soon to be replaced with 3.00 gears
TH400 with 4400 stall getting restalled as well!
We are not sure on raceweight. I want the car to be exactly as it will always be when we go to the track before I weigh it. Still need to add interior pieces and a few final pieces to the cage and whatnot. Probably like 3750-3850lbs... maybe more like 4k with me in it actually.

And the car is running rich still. We want to keep it safe.

Whos converter?

The 3.50 gear should take you into the 150s depending on where you are shifting. It sounds like the stall is super loose.

We run the exact same tire, with 3.73 gears, go though the traps about 67-6800 and run 146 out the back.

With 13lbs and twin 42r's you should be getting into the sweet spot for mega hp

Those are some good results for the first time to the track. You obviously still have quite a bit of room to grow.

I think that's a great pass at low boost and big weight. Are you using 74mm Garretts? Turbine ar ?

That car will go 8's with everything right and high boost.

The converter is definitely super loose. I think tightening it up alone would help us get another 7mph out of it. The weight certainly isn't helping either. Turning about 6900RPMs.

Yes these are the 74mm GT42Rs, I bought them from Harlan like 2.5yrs ago.

I would suggest the stall first before the gear as mentioned. The 28"/3.50 should be fine for your setup.

congrats on your first outing

Yeah but these gears will not get me through the traps at 160+mph when I am trying for 8s... right?

Either way thanks for the compliments guys. The time money and sweat has finally paid off. I can't say enough about the guys over at Transmission Physicians who built the car for me.

LOL @ Jake.

I'd say he's flying already...especially having to let out, and hitting the rev limiter.

My GF has my timeslips. I will have them tonight. I do know that it went 6.1 in the 1/8 on the 9.64 1.45 60ft pass. No clue what mph though. Honestly I let off somwhere between the 1/8 and 1000ft mark. Not real sure, I may have been deeper than I thought.

What turbine AR are you running?

Water cooled?

I ran the same tire with a 3.00 gear to 156mph at 6300rpm...would have been 7300ish with your 3.50 gear for reference.

It's been a long time coming, Trak. I'm guessing the biggest factor in the car feeling loose on the top end would be tire pressure. Congrats!
