fuel pump noise

fuel pump noise Looks like a common problem with these pumps based on the amount of post, but;
I installed a racetronic pump in my weekend driven C5 approx. 1 1/2 years ago (only about 4000 miles) It has started making a loud hissing noise (pump is right behind drivers seat) like fuel being sprayed under high pressure. I changed my fuel filter but no change. I can only assume that my high $$ pump is ALREADY going bad.
Is this the only high performance pump out there that dosen't cost a fortune, or is there something else that might last a little longer. I have a 150 N2O, kit, and am at 563rwhp when I do spray (which is RARELY) so I need to supply the engine with fuel, but $350+ every couple of years is crazy
Since I have the wiring harness already, can I just buy just the pump?
