Please explain what you mean by "hotwire".
That's what I used to do to my dad's 54 Ford when I wanted to go on a joy ride.

its a wire kit, that runs straight to the battery or altrenator or something that plugs into the factory fuel pump harness, that give you more power to the pump, or stabilizesfuel pressure, or voltage or something.
to be honest im not sure what it does, just that everyone recomends it. not just installing the pump.

Racetronix also sells one, in 3 levels from basic to deluxe. It ranges from 60 to 80.
Its function is to supply steady current (and thus voltage) to the pump even under extreme conditions such as WOT. It has heavier gauge wires, a relay at the back to boost voltage, and excellent connectors throughout. I would personally not install a more powerful pump without it.

Here is the link for a 99 and up:
http://www.racetronix.com/RX-F99-FPKG-2.html

The quality on the components is first class, I have the deluxe one on my car.

I would also go with the Racetronix kit as the higher tiered kit has provisions for a BAP. And looking at your mods this might be very helpful when your boost kicks in.

The FT harness is not quite the same in a few areas of construction and material. FTR's harness layout is based on our original release of our harness from many years ago. Since then we have made some upgrades and changes.
  1. Some wire gauges are different
  2. We use Nylon loom vs. PVC. Nylon is more expensive b/c it has the highest temperature rating and resistance to solvents. PVC is much less resistant to solvents (gas) and usually deforms/melts in hot engine compartments.
  3. We heat-shrink our harness ends. FTR tapes theirs.
  4. The FTR harness does not include/offer a battery to body ground upgrade.
  5. We provide a lifetime warranty. FTR offers one year.
  6. We manufacture our own harnesses. FTR's harnesses are outsourced.
Our BGC is comprised of an 8 gauge wire with spiked terminals which hooks between the negative battery terminal and the body ground. Our kit comes with two battery nuts not one. We supply 25 wire ties, dielectric grease, spare fuse, SS screws, etc.
