Default LQ9 into Toyota Tundra

I have a supercharged Toyota Tundra 4.7 V8-330 RWHP I was thinking of building the motor so that I can wind up the boost, but the cost is ridiculous.

I have located a 2008 LQ9 6.0 with 10,000 miles and want to install that motor and turbo it. The LQ9 is set up for a returnless system and the tundra is a return system. What will be necessary to run the return system with that motor?
Will the LQ9 computer be able to run the constant voltage Tundra return system? Will I need to change the fuel rails for the earlier GM return system?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Is that because of the lower 9.4 compression? are these two motors the same otherwise? Can I just fit thicker headgaskets to the LQ9?
What about the computer--will it still work properly with the return fuel system? Thanks

You will be fine with a return system. That's what you want anyways to run big boost. A return style system with a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator.

Yes, the LQ4 is the lower compression of the two because it has dished pistons. The LQ9 has flat top pistons. Otherwise they are the same. Of course you can fit thicker gaskets, but in any boost application especially HIGH boost the thicker the head gasket the more likely you are to blow one. Not a good idea.

Thanks for the info---there will be many more questions as this project moves forward.
Does anyone know if there will be any issues with the ECU,which is for a returnless system,if I use a return system---any other ECU / wiring advice?. Thanks

stock uses a return, but it is back at the t after the fuel filter. there will be no problems running it off the fuel rail.
