Default Hesitant Start Up

My 02 Trans AM has hesitant start up when the motor has warmed up and then sat for maybe an hour. It just cranks for awhile and eventually starts. What seems to be the easiest way to get it start is just turning the ignition on, then off, and then back on. It has no drivability issues once the motor is running.

When this problem first began I changed the fuel filter and I did fuel system flush with a pressurized fuel injection cleaning kit.

Someone has mentioned the fuel pressure regulator before, but I have no idea where that is or how to check it.

Any ideas?

fuel pressure regulator is located in the tank(part of fuel pump assembly). hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail schrader valve and turn the key on engine off(KOEO)and then return key to off positon, pressure should read around 55psi let gauge sit for 10-15 and see how much the gauge drops. this will indicate if you have a leaking injector or a bad fuel pressure regulator.

no need to steal your thread but im having the same problem, maybe my problem can help fix yours. so i just tested my fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
I turned the key on engine off(KOEO)and then return key to off positon, the pressure went up to 60psi, then took less than two seconds to return to 0. I then started my car and the pressure went back up to 60psi and stayed constant. any idea if its the fuel pump assembly or bad injectors? what would be my next step to diagnosing pump/ injectors. would the racetronix,

be a solution?
thanks!

in the past its always been the regulator that has caused the pressure to leak down and not hold but this was on cars other than fbodies. let me know what you find.

can you replace just the regulator? if so what is the part number for stock or aftermarket piece... I order a racetronix kit for my car yesterday. I also read the pressure bleed off could be due to the hose in the tank being loose or cracked. thanks everyone!
