Default What is this fitting for?? (pic)

Can anyone tell me what the fitting that is circled in red is used for?

Also, if it were plugged, what problems would it cause?

Thank you

probly to the evap canister
Im guessing u did not take the tank out?
If it is an evap line and you plug it, the computer might throw a code and it could be difficult to put fuel in the tank

Thanks,

You're correct. I did an access door for my new pump. When cutting the door, the cutting wheel grazed the connector on that fitting. It did not create a leak but I was not sure what the line was for.

I'm concerned because after installing my Racetronix pump, the car idles at 70 psi on fuel pressure and only drops a few psi under a load. I have confirmed it was 70 psi with a couple gauges.

I really doubt that it has anything to do with high fuel pressue if it is for evap. There are no codes or serious problems other than high pressure and the car runs ~ .5:1 too rich.

Thanks

Did you mess with regulator inside the sending unit at all.
Maybe the return line has debri in it or is pinched and is not allowing full flow of the regulator.
I installed a racetronix pump in my car and never had a problem, but I also never checked the pressure afterwards and the car was tuned immediately after the pump install

I guess now you need to ajust your injector flow rate to reflect on the increase in fuel pressure

Sounds good. i have the new IFR values into my tune already. Just need to log a couple times and see how that goes.

I didn't mess with my regulator at all. I am glad to hear that others have seen about the same fp I am getting.

I'm not worried about tuning for the difference as much as whether or not the higher pressure will cause problems downstream.
Thanks
