Default stock fpr?

When removing the stock fpr is it ok to just take off the half that comes apart and leave the rest connected to the bucket?? I have an external regulator and when I changed my pump I remember pulling off half of the stock regulator but I didn't take anything out of the other half. I never put the other half back on. The part that is connected to the bucket is still there just without the other half...will that affect my external fpr or do I need to take out whatever is left in the other part??

There is a spring and diaphragm in there as well if you removed those you are OK to leave the rest on.

Thanks for the reply. If the spring and diaphragm are in the half that is removable I'm good, because I didn't take anything out of the other half.
