Default walbro 255 vs. Aeromotive Inline EFI Fuel Pump

i am doing a conversion in my 69 nova and a lot of people are using the walbro 255 for swaps and i cant find any horsepower ratings on it but the aeromotive pump is rated 500 naturally aspirated and for the money difference i wouldnt mind either one. will the aeromotive pump capatable with the corvette filter/regulator? can i just size up the 5/16 line on the pump to the regulator? and the reason i ask is because in the future i want t boost the stock 5.3 and run a low amount of boost to make 400-450 hp

ive now read that the walbro can support 500-600 whp and on aeromotives site they say their pump can only do 375 forced injection but still flows more gph and a higher psi can anyone explain this to me and what pump i should go with

Walbro rating is static flow, Aeromotive estimate is based on forced induction application (probably on the conservative side)...Walbro rating is 70 gph which equates to about 800 hp (flywheel) that is under perfect circumstances ( not taking into account line size, line length, friction flow, filter restriction etc...)..try to run 3/8" line where you can

I am in the same situation as you - getting ready to install my 408 into my '69 Nova. One item you are not addressing is the need for baffling in your tank to keep the pump suction in fuel at hard acceleration or turns. This is very important for a fuel injected engine, which requires a steady, high pressure flow of gas. I have decided to purchase an aftermarket fuel tank for my build. But I still haven't settled on an in-tank pair of pumps or a single external pump.
Here is a thread I started about this same issue:

Single Walbro pump will make 550boosted easy or 600NA. I use a company called Tanks Inc for swap kits. They build intank Walbro setups that are quite trick to fit your factory tank. We have custom adapters and line kits to hook it all up and make it work properly. Give me a call With more info on your setups and I can help you get the system you need.
