Default Delco EP381 pump good for EPS 226 cam and ported 799 heads?

Hey guys,

Did a bit of searching, and I didn't find the answer I was looking for.

I'm doing a 66 Chevy Nova. Putting an 02 LS1 in it (has the LS6 intake setup). I also have a stock set of 799 heads that I think I'm going to get done by TEA. But depending on my cash situation, I might just leave them stock.

Also going with an EPS cam, probably something like a 226.

For the fuel system, Rick's Tanks offers a nice stainless tank made for my car with a fuel injected engine in it. It comes with a Delco EP381 fuel pump. Rick's site says:

"Fuel Pump is GM PN. EP381 good for up to 450 HP. @ 13.5 volts pump is rated for 51 PSI and will flow 41GPH. (155.2 LPH)"

Any thoughts on this handling my heads/cam? I want to get the heads done, but if I have to add the expense of a different pump (and also assuming injectors), it just pushes the head porting out of my price range.

I'd assume that if I only ran the EPS 226 cam that the EP381 pump and stock LS6 injectors would work.

Any comments? Thanks in advance.
