Default Fuel system upgrade?

I recently had a young man ask for help on a recent purchase he made. He purchased a TRANS AM that was modified with a bunch of equipment that was purchased from TEXAS SPEED and VENGENANCE RACING. The young man had a fuel pump issue and when he had it corrected at a local shop in Hawaii, the shop nor him knew exactly what was going on with the car and put a stock FUEL PUMP in the car. The car is equipped with the following:

TEXAS SPEED
- 402/408 LS1/LQ9 IRON STROKER LONG BLOCK - ITEM # 25-402IIRONLB
- COMP CAM CUSTON GRIND - 232/242 .595/.612 112LSA - ITEM # 4-CUSTOMCAM

VENGEANCE RACING
- LS1/LS2/LS6 1.8 ROCKER ARMS
- TRICK FLOW 215CC CNC PORTED HEADS 3.90 BORE
- VENGEANCE RACING FAST 96MM COMBO FOR CORVETTE

RANDOM ITEMS:

ACCEL 48lb Fuel Injectors.

These are the big items.

What do you guys recommend for the FUEL SYSTEM? BOOST-A-PUMP or a upgraded FUEL PUMP.

Also, what WATER PUMP do you guys run on these 408s and HOSE kits?

Really appreciate the help getting this car running again.

Since you have a new astock pump in you could always run an in line 255 to cpmensate. Or you could just pull the stock pump out and throw in an in tank 255 with a racetronix hotwire kit.

Yeah, I contacted TEXAS SPEED and VENEGANCE RACING (place that sold the block and supporting bolt ons) and they mentioned the same thing.

Thanks,

Micah,

I'd go with a racetronix 255 with their hotwire kit.

If he wants to be cheap, buy just the wiring kit and see if that helps enough by itself. I don't like boost a pumps. Especially if he ran it all the time on his NA motor.

BTW, I ran a stock pump and made my numbers in my sig with it. Eventually put in a racetronix though. It wasn't out of fuel though. It's also a C5, but should be similar.

Yeah man... still here. Don't plan on going too far anytime soon. Many of the people I knew here either sold their cars or left the area though....

Right on. I retire from the Navy in December. Might have to get down there and hang out with you and whatever crew is left.

I sold my black coupe, later bought a MY coupe and sold it and now I have the one I have always wanted...2003 TR ZO6. Cammed it, VR CAI, LTs and coil overs. All done by me.

Keep in touch bro.
