Default aftermarket fuel pump vs oem

i have a 1998 z28 with 93000 miles wirth of fuel pumped through on the oem pump. my sending unit is going, so i guess its time to replace that and the pump before it goes......so my question is, compare a new oem vs aftermarket........y do people decide aftermarket over oem besides price? the oem is nasty price wise.....also, are there any aftermarket units that i can use a sending unit with...id like a functional fuel gauge. Also, compare the quality of a new oem gainst some common aftermatket pumps.....thanks......

ps....in the future, i will be seeing some numbers around 500-600 rwhp

You pretty much answered you own question, people upgrade because the stock pump will not support their horsepower level. Racetonix is the best direct replacement on the market, the hotwire kit isn't necessary but if you plan for 500-600rwhp in the future just get the hotwire kit now and save yourself some time later on down the road. http://www.racetronix.biz/customkiti...c=RFPK-002&eq=

racetronix uses a genuine walbro pump, so the quality is as good or better than OEM

Huh? You only need the racetronix pump, it goes in your factory sending unit.

Yea racetronix is legit. I have one in my 98. They machine a housing to make the walbro fit in just like stock. They give you everything you need including the paper clip to repin the couple of wires!

Since you have a '98, our fuel pump is a straight forward install onto a OE sending unit using our standard install kit.

Our pumps are quiet compared to the Walbros and budget friendly compared to an OE replacement.

The only time my walbro makes noise is when you first turn the key on..... what does a quite pump matter in a Muscle car anyway? You can't hear anything over the exhaust most of the time.

If you want a pump solution which is proven and comes with all the PROPER wiring and hardware so you do not have to modify your sender or fabricate anything the Racetronix FPA-002 is the only way to go!

The truth is most of these new offshore pumps are not much quieter if at all. These turbine pumps have a different pitch because they spin at a much higher speed to achieve their advertised flow numbers.
