Red face Walbro 255 pump/what psi is it?

Just put a walbro 255 pump, #gca758-2 from summit, in my 6.0liter chevelle, and it's only puttin out 28-30 psi at idle. I changed the fuel reg. on the rail and is the same (trk intake). Checked for kinked lines, fuel filter. all ok. The description for the pump is it's for a 85-92 350ci camaro w/tpi. Is that OK.. My tuner says it needs about 55psi.
The pump had 3 lines off it, one fuel, the other one to return, one to vent.....hmmmmmmm maybe I put the return to the vent one? Any ideas????
Thanks Rick

I run the Racetronix kit which uses a Wallbro 255 on my C5. It easily maintains 60lbs with an Aeromotive 1006 regulator.

I beleave the old TPI system runs on 35 psi. So I beleave you have the wrong pump. Your LS series fuel pressure needs to be at 55 psi.

regulator sets the pressure not the pump so pump should be ok. 255 pumps seem to only differ in arrangement of the bottom pickup to fit different buckets. some are offset some are centered.. other then that any 255 pump should all flow 255lph.

im wondering if that "vent" is a venturi setup?

Actually some 255lph pumps are designed around 43.5psi & not higher pressures. Regardless, you should see over 30psi.

Good chance you have an install problem with the in-tank hose.

Problem solved, pulled tank and the hose to the pump was loose. Cut another hose and re installed it. waalaa! 75psi unreg press. 55psi regulated.... funny, it runs better now, off to the tuner now..... thanx for the help.....
