Default 160lb high impedance injectors on stock PCM with HPTuners...place bets

Well the car goes on the dyno Thursday to see if Jim (INTMD8) at Speed Inc can tune these big injectors well enough to make the car drivable under low load conditions on a stock PCM using HP Tuners custom OS. This will be on 110 race gas. No E85 here.

I've read lots of results from other folks who swear by low imedance with a driver box but I wanted to stay high just for simplicity sake. These are the injectors from Fuel Injector Connection. All flow matched.

I'm hoping for good drivability whithout cranking the idle up too much. Place your bets!
Thread got closed in forced inductions but not sure why...maybe this is the right place. Results to come soon.

I'm in for the results. I'm going with the 160's as well, let's see how they do.

I've been running in my twin turbo c6. Made 1437 wheel and with some tuning have low engine speed STFT decent. Sitting at red lights car runs ~ 14teens afrs. Have no doubt that jimmy will nail it custom HP tuner OS.

Anyways I posted in the last thread, yes it should be plenty doable. You will be close to the minimum pulsewidth at idle and especially on decel but running a lower base fuel pressure will help.

Yeah I think the powers at be thought I posted this in the wrong section (Forced Induction) and closed the thread without a warning or moving it. So I wanted to make sure I re-opened it in the correct section. I'm only looking for maybe another 100RWHP max out of the combination so I should have plenty of room to lower base fuel pressure.

Making 907RWHP out of 80lb injectors required me to crank the base pressure up pretty high. It's going to be nice to have some excess room for growth. Plus you never know when I might need to change out the 67's and go with 76's or something equivalent.

Working nicely so far.

Running OLSD and 43psi base pressure and they are idling at around 13.6-1 and cruising at 14.2-14.4-1.

45% IDC at 13psi and 719rwhp.

More boost tomorrow

Made 600RWHP at 9PSI
Made 719RWHP at 13PSI
Man I'm a little excited about what she'll do at 25PSI.
So happy about the idle and the cruising A/F ratios. Decel doesn't seem to be a problem from what I saw on the dyno. The previous 80lb injectors needed the fuel pressure cranked in order to produce enough fuel flow to support the 907RWHP. I actually think it idles a good bit better than it did before. No change that I could tell on decel.

Anyone need a set of 80lb injectors? I'm selling the old ones right away..LOL

967rwhp @23psi, 71% injector duty cycle. (more boost would require more wastegate spring).

Yes, this is through a TH400 and a Strange 12 bolt. The power seems to be blowing through the converter now at full boost so it's time to tighten up the converter and I'll take this time this winter to have the tranny gone through since it's been 3 seasons with just fluid and filter changes. I think that if the converter was there it would've hit 1000RWHP. Wastegate springs are the other issue like Jim stated. I don't think it'll help to change out the springs without working the converter.

What's nice to see is that at almost the same boost level these injectors still gave me a nice jump in RWHP with plenty of room for growth. Idle is very good and Jim felt comfortable that overall drivablity will not suffer.

For those who PM'd me thinking that a converter box and low impedance was the only way to go will have to rethink that thought pattern seeing as how many have done it succesfully. Now which is cheaper can be argued Jim can speak as to which takes more time on the dyno to tune. I would think the same but I'm no expert.

Overall great success and big thanks to INTMD8 (Jim) and Speed Inc. for getting my car in there and the hard work.

Dyno graph on it's way. I didn't get any video except for a 600RWHP run at 9PSI which seems pretty weak compared to a full boost run.
