Default Octane questions.

First off Im not trying to be cheap but just wondering if its necassary to run 93 in my truck. Ive always run it but its just a ly6 with a vvt-2 cam stock 9.6 compression and 27* of wot timing. Just thinking why spend the extra 10 cents on 93 vs 89 if its not doing anything besides carboning up my engine.

What was it tuned on?

With that low of compression, I think you'd be ok with 89.

Easiest way is to do a scan to see if there is any knock retard. It there is none, you are fine with the octane you are currently running. It may even be fine on 87.

Test & post results.
