Default Injector size for AI heads/cam setup?

So I have a 1999 Camaro and will be having the following done to the motor. It will have a BBK 85 mm throttle body and intake. I would like to know what injector size to get so I can send all my info to Frost for a mail order tune so I can drive it to the tuner on the correct injectors. I could also run on my current tune with stock injectors, not sure if it will hurt it if I dont get on it. Any ideas on injector size?

•Ai 219cc HCR Full CNC Porting
•Compression Ratio increased to 11.3:1
•Ai 230° / 238° 113° LSA .600"/.600" Hydraulic Roller Camshaft
•GM OEM .051" Head Gaskets

•Typically manages 440-460rwhp SAE corrected

I would say 38#'s or 41#'s for room to grow. I would like to mention a 255lph fuelpump might be something to start thinkin about, usaully the stock pump can handle about 450rwhp anything beyond that is pushing it.

It will be fine on stock injectors at light to medium throttle. I would go 42s on this combo.

I recommend a 255 drop in fuel pump as well.

I am currently installing AI H/C and a fast intake and I will be using fast 36# which are 41# in our rails. These injectors are also very easy to get the injector data for tuning purposes.

So should I drive it to the tuner on stock injectors and tune from my previous cam or get a mail order tune for the new injectors and setup?

i would grab a 255 pump (kit) and put it in, and put in 36lb injectors if you don't look at doing more. if you eventually end up doing more, the 36# will not be enough.

42# would give you growing room, and the 255 pump would provide plenty of fuel for them

It was safe and smart enough for me. Never had any problems with it and it delivered a nice 13:0 A/F.... smart ***

Just got the 255 pump and hot wire kit, $160 shipped from show me speed. So how do you actually know what injectors to get?

255 Lph pump will supply a maximum of 8 x 51LB/hr injectors

https://ls1tech.com/forums/fueling-i...ump-chart.html

check out RCENG and injector sizing.

if you don't plan on getting a blower or turbo grab some 36# injectors and you will be able to easily make 480RWHP and 440RWTQ with ~60% duty cycle.

if you think you will be doing a lot more mods later, I would get 42# injectors

it really depends on the power you are either capable of making with the setup you have (or are about to build) or what you will be building.

Well opinions vary now don't they. Why don't you post up your injector duty cycle at your shift point.

Tony Mamo told me that 36lb injectors would be plenty for my setup (Ported TFS 215s, RapTR cam, ls6 intake, rest of the bolt ons etc etc.)

I believe he said he ran 36lb injectors in his 383

Correct me if I am wrong

36# injectors at what fuel pressure rating, ? the standard 43.5psi?
even if its at 58psi you will be fine with those mods.

you will be fine with the 36# injectors
