Default 02 to 98 fuel tank swap

ok i am waiting on my trans to be rebuilt so i decided to tackle my fpr problem while car was down anyway, i found a 02 fuel tank at a local salvage yard an bought it, took my walbro pump out of 98 tank replaced stock pump in 02 tank with it now waiting on the filler neck i bought off ebay to arrive so i can see if its going to work. my question is dose anybody know if there is anything i need to do to make this work. please help i am so tired of fpr problems

Just wanted all to know it was a perfect replacement no major changes had to be done.

You are right my fuel gauge is off about a 1/4 tank. But now I have the swap done and all was going well than yesterday I was out and ses light came on so checked it out I got bank 1 lean bank 2 lean. I don't know what to do this is the same thing that the 98 set up Was doing

I will check I do have slp maf and pacesetter lt headers ory and hollow cats my rear o2s have been deleted. Thank you for suggestion

Sounds like the common denominator is that walbro pump. Why did you feel like you needed a new tank anyway?

If you are having the same problem, I'd got back to the metal tank (fix your gauge problem), and replace the pump (lean problem). Hope that makes sense. Also, have you replaced your filter?
