Default Fuel pump power wire

Need some quick help! I'll be wiring my MP4301 tomorrow, i already have the diagram/relay etc, i just want to make sure of one thing, Can i cut/use the RED wire thats plugged into the fuse box for the fuel pump for power?

Run a fresh power wire to the relay for the pump. You can pull it from the alternator stud, battery positive or you could connect it at the fuse box stud. I always connect the power wire to the back of the alternator.

Yea, i followed the diagram/your advise with the 10ga from my other thread, i'm only using the red factory pump wire to trigger the 40amp relay. I ran 10ga frm pump to relay, 10ga pump ground, and 10ga through the 40amp relay to the alternator charging stud fused with a 30amp fuse. Used 16ga from original factory fuel pump wire(red wire) to the relay, and 16ga for the relay ground.
