Default IDC of 38-40%?

I'm curious if this low of an IDC is costing power? I'm running ID 1000 which is way over kill @ my power level. Searching indicates power atomization that low & 80% is a good target.

Any thoughts or experience?

no. please stop this thinking.

good atomization is an injector characteristic at any given pulse. duty cycle is simply a calculation of how much time the injector spends open flowing fuel compared to its off time.

The only risk with really big injectors is that the ECU cannot get the pulse width low enough. This causes a rich idle. You have to go pretty dang big for that to be an issue. Nothing wrong with 40% at WOT. Just room to grow. :-)
