flex fuel fbody?
Hey there I was just wondering if anyone successfully convert flex fuel for fbody? Im planning on doing a turbo upgrade on my car and i like the idea of e85 but theres not many e85 stations available in my area, so i was wondering if anybody did a flex fuel conversion.

You'd need a few things:
1. A sensor in the fuel tank to recognize the presence of E85
2. A PCM that can take info from that sensor and make the necessary changes
3. Fuel injectors large enough to handle the extra volume required when running E85
Is it impossible? No. Worth it? Probably not...I'm not sure what you'd run for a PCM, unless the F-body PCM has some hidden flex fuel back door I'm not aware of.

Using the Fbody OS it is not possible.... There is a SUV/Truck OS for the 0411 controller that did have flex fuel support. It's one of the many projects I have going on trying to make something work with it however it's one of the low on the priority list projects haha.

damn. thanks for the responses everybody. I've been searching and i've heard theory that using truck pcm has similar parameters with fbody pcm. Since im thinking of aes 390 with ls3 top end, im thinking of the escalades pcm, but this project wont get started till a year from now, so i hope theres a flex fuel kit out for fbody by then. James@shortuning. I hope to see this project, i know u be making a killing.

check out the cobalt turbo section on hp tuners forum you will see guys getting awesome results out of 50/50 blends
^this greatly reduces the need to upgrade fuel system components , I believe in their case they dont run higher concentrations due to a component limitation without going back in there to refresh my memory what that component was i cant tell you.
I am 3 states away from the closest e85 pump - wish it was closer....
