Default 160lb injectors Help

Well I am having issues and I am sure its because I am doing something wrong. I had purchased a new set of smartfire injectors ( 160lb ). I started the car for the first time last night with the new injectors. It started with a litle help from the gas peddle. I ran it up for a little while of course it didnt want to idle. I tried to let it idle on its own and it died. I tried to restart the car and it pretty much hyudrolocked? I looked under the car and that was fuel coming out of the down pipe. I stopped everything I was going and just let the car sit. About an hour or so later I was in the houde thinking about what I need to do. So I went out and tested every injector to see if I had one stuck open. They all clicked when sending ground to them so I would think that is not it? It was showing around the 9.4 range on my wideband at idle. I am running e85 and the stoich value in HPT is set at 9.84615. My Wideband is still showing gas value just so you know. I am running smartfire injectors 160lb with a versafueler driver box and a boost ref reg. I installed the correct IFR in HPT 152lb is what the spec sheet said. I also have dead timne data ( dont know what I do with it? ) Do I need to adjust the min pulse width, short pluse limit ect? I dont know where to start. So here I am asking for any help I can get this where it needs to be. Thanks

Set the HPT stoich back to 14.625ish, and tune for that on the gas WB, follow basic gas scaling for your cruise/idle/PE/BE assuming it is a basic intercooled 650-800hp combo.

May want to pull plugs, crank the motor over to make sure the cylinders are dry, change plugs and start again.

You need alot of data change for the 160's. Minimum pulse, timing, ect.

Definitely pull the plugs and crank over.

So I want the stoich value in HPT set at 14.625? Was I wrong for setting it to the 9.8xx. I was told that was what I needed to do so thats why I did it. Do you think that is why it was running so rich?

I figured I would have to change that stuff. How do you determine the short pulse limit, min pulse, adder ect. Right now my short pulse limit is at 3.997 I would think this needs to be reduced a LOT? But I am not sure thats why I am asking. Thanks for the help.

14.62857 and yes that is one reason why you were running so rich, correct injector data is another reason, VE tuning, and OL EQ ratio are a few others. Your combo is going to like different AFRs at different loads, and temps, so your commanded AFR is going to vary depending on those and what you need to target.

Well I have my OL EQ at 1 VE shouldnt be that far off as it was tuned SD before all this. Only thing that changed was intake and now it has a front mount pt88. So even though e85 stoich value is way different I need to change my value in HPT to 14.62857. I will try that and see what happens. It just seems odd I would command a stoich value that is different then the fuel I am using. I am not doubting you just trying to understand. I will make that change and see what it does. As far as mpw and spl how do you know how to change those? because I have a boost ref fuel reg I set the IFR to 152 across the board. That is correct right?

You bought trouble, those injectors are Chinese junk, get them on a flow bench they will be all over the place. Read the reviews they are a big problem. They are 8.00 each on amazon .. Chinese should stick to fortune cookies not injectors that will blow up our engines.

Ok I am finding more and more reviews on these. I am not dealing with it. What injectors should I buy? I want this project to be done. These injectors have caused me lots of trouble already and I am not dealing with it down the road. I already have the versafueler but I can take that out if I need to. Who should I go with people? Help me out here!

Called and talked to Jon at FIC and he hooked me up with the right injectors for my setup. Cant wait to get them! Jon is a great guy to deal with! I will back on to update once I get the injectors. Should have been smart enough to get ahold of FIC right away.
