cannot get pump out of gas tank PLEASE HELP!!!

Default cannot get pump out of gas tank PLEASE HELP!!!

hey guys im so pissed rifht now lol. i have the actually assembly all loose and disconnected ready to come out but i cant get it out of the actual gas tank. the plastic bucket seems like its bigger then the opening in the gas tank. im trying to replace my fuel level sender so my gas guage works again and i just cant get this bucket out. can someone please help!!! ive been searching on the internet for almost an hour now and no luck.

Sometimes it will get cocked a little sideways and seems too small to come out. It will come out. Just keep moving it in different directions and angles and pulling, don't forfeit out.

I've pulled the bucket out honestly probably 20 times in the past 3 days. lol don't ask!

i finally got it, i had to slip one side up while the other side was still stuck under the tank so i hsd to use a very small screwdriver to pry up while wiggling it up out finally. what a w****

I ran into this problem on a Ford at work. The old one was hell to get out. The new one dropped in with room to spare. I think it just got "bent out of shape" after 15 years of being submerged in gasoline. Tolerances weren't as tight. The housing of the bucket was barely separated from the main core of the bucket itself. That caused the bucket to be too big for the hole in the tank.

LOL just goes to show you these cars are not all identical. What looks easy while reading on these forums, you try the same work and have problems.
