Is the fuel pump amp load constant, or does it increase with throttle?
Let's say I have a Bosch 044 fuel pump running my naturally aspirated engine using the stock Corvette LS1 fuel filter at about 58.5 psi (I think.) Is the fuel pump working just as hard and pulling just as many amps:
1) at idle
2) while normally cruising
2) under full throttle high RPM pulls?

Depends on voltage, the higher the rpm usually the higher the voltage and lower amperage. Since the pump is almost always bypassing some fuel from the regulator I doubt diverting the supply from bypass to the engine changes amp load much. The whole point of a bypass strle system is to stabilize fuel pressure.

If this remains the same, then the fuel pump isnt working any harder.
