Stock LS7 Injectors + E85 - Opinions/Advice Wanted
Just bought a 2008 C6 Z06 fully loaded black on black with 30,000 miles 2 weeks ago.
Going to baseline it Friday night then I'm installing a Vararam CAI, fresh oil/filter, LPE 160 thermostat, Granatelli plug wires, NGK TR6IXs and a little Water Wetter. More importantly I'm going to tune it on Saturday morning on E85. I've heard running E85 and/or tuning it voids the warranty so I have some concerns and may wimp out but anywho.
Question is: are the stock injectors with these minimal mods ok to run on E85? Based on my research I've read mixed answers. Most say no but the cars in question are generally more modified (cam, heads etc). I read one fairly stock LS7 ran it just fine with peak injector duty cycle reaching 84%. I talked to the dyno folks as well (New England Dyno who I've gone to before) and they thought I would be ok as I'm just about stock and even if my injector duty cycles ran high it would only be at or close to max rpms and for very short periods of time. Car is just a weekend cruiser for now with no plans to track it or road race it any time soon (maybe just a few baseline runs at New England drag way at most).
Thoughts/opinions/experiences?
Thanks.
