This may be a dumb question, but does the orientation of the injector matter? Once installed the injector can be rotated 360 deg. If the injector sprays straight then it should make no difference how it's oriented. But I have heard that some injectors can spray at an angle to target the intake valve better, which may mean that the orientation does matter. Or perhaps I am misinterpreting what this means.

No, they are typically a straight pattern, except for some of the Cobra injectors that have a dual spray cone.
