Default Question for the fuel pump experts "negative effects on dual pump"

Are there any known negative effects on fuel being pushed backwards thru a pump? I am talking about a dual pump setup where they both feed a single fuel line thru a Y adapter and aren't always both on (ex: low boost, idle).

I'm sorry if this has been discussed. I tried a couple different searches and couldn't find any information.

If you are running pumps like that you will need check-valves on both pumps to prevent fuel just looping back through the stationary pump. You should generally have check-valves on dual pump setups even when both pumps are running just in case 1 pump fails.

Damned near all in-tank pumps come with check valves so this shouldn't be a problem.

Not in-tank specific but Bosch 044's don't, and they seem pretty common in dual pump arrangements.
