Default return style fuel system for 98 camaro

was doing a lot of research on this topic have all figured except what do I do with the old fuel pressure regulator in the tank can I just take it all out or do I have to leave some of the pieces in it im going to use a fuel pressure regulator that's external

if you are using an external regulator i would think you would want to completely get rid of the intank one. the less restriction on the return the better.

so u think just remove the whole pressure regulator from the disconnect

If you are referring to the one in the tank then yes. Set your base fuel pressure with your new regulator then run the return line back to the gas tank.

The stock in tank regulator is held in place with a spring clip, pops right out with slight thumb pressure.

One thing I've wondered about is how well simply re-plumbing,
and feeding the in-tank reg from the rails rather than the
fuel-filter "T", would work. No manifold referencing, but at
least taking out the forward run flow/pressure drop (or
maybe even inverting it, for more pressure at highest load).
