A possible manifold referenced rail setup, OE cheap?
While poking at the tune file for my "new" 2002 Express
van, I see a flat-vs-vacuum profile that makes me think
there is some sort of manifold referenced setup. This is
a Vortec iron 5.7 with the Oreo MAF and a '411 PCM.
Have not figured out how to get the "doghouse" off the
back of the motor, to try and see the hardware. Don't
have the shop manuals ordered yet, and owner's manual
doesn't want to tell you how to touch anything more
than dipsticks and fuses.
If this is for reals, could be a nice donor base for making
better fuel pressure control. Though flow number is well
less than the Camaro minimum, and they might not be the
best flowing rails, maybe the regulator scheme is swappable?
