Default evap canister, solenoid thing...

so i was trying to get my fuel line disconnected so i could take my valve cover off to check my rockers and springs and of course i broke the damn plastic tube that the evap line connects to, i found the new ones on rock auto but they look different then the stock ones, the plastic tube is straight on the new one but angled on the stock one. just wondering to anyone has had to replace one before if they noticed they changed the design up a little. thanks.

I replaced the evap vent tube, solenoid, and filter on my buddy's ~2003 Silverado 5.3. The replacement part, tube, etc. was different as GM had revised the design. It was pretty significantly different and required running the filter up and zip-tying it near the top of the transmission. Just food for thought as we couldn't find the same thing at the parts stores either.
