Default stalling on long drives?

Have a walbro 255. Car started losing power and eventually died after about 2hrs of driving. Let it sit for about and hr and it was fine. Did the same thing on the way home from my trip. Only thing I can think of is the fuel pump??

Could be the relays and/or wiring heating up so worth a check there. I had this same issue in the Jeep. Replaced the regulator and it got a little better but in the end was the pump. Relays are a lot easier to replace and good maintenance anyway so throw $25 or so at that first, IMO. Also clogged filter makes the pump work harder in theory so this should always be changed.

Good luck.

Bet your tank isn't vented correctly. Next time it happens, pop the filler cap and see if it'll run...

Well, I guess you'll stumble across a fix eventually...

I agree, sounds like an issue with tank venting

Most likely has to do with the evap emissions stuff. First, find a flow diagram, next isolate and bypass the evap canister, then "loop check" all the hoses to see if they're plugged.
