Default backwards gauge

I have a 98 trans am and the fuel gauge reads backwards. I was told by the previous owner that when he switched fuel pumps, he used a sending unit out of a 99. Works fine, just backwards.

Everything I have read about backwards gauges people have used a newer computer causing this. And the fix was in the tune. But nothing about a newer sending unit.

Is there an easy fix for this?
Thanks.

Switching the wires does nothing. It is not polarity sensitive.

If he installed a 99 sensor, it rotates the opposite way of a 98, so it should read backwards.

No idea if there is anything similar in the US.

But this will allow you to change any resistance scaling...to any that you need
