Default Brass insert on my ls6 manifold that holds the fuel rail is stripped! Grrrrr.

Ok guys so I searched and cannot find much on this. I see the FAST intake manifold is having this problem but not much on how to fix it.

I went to tighten the fuel rail down onto the intake manifold tonight and it started turning the brass fitting when I got close to the bottom. When I wiggled the head of the bolt, I noticed that it was not tight in the intake manifold. I unbolted the bolt and was able to wiggle it out.

So how are yall putting these back in? I've replaced the injectors more than a few times, so I'm sure I stressed it. It was used when I bought it, so maybe this was a problem before as well. Who knows, all I know is it isn't going to hold a tab on my fuel injector rail down and I'm not ok with that. Any help would be greatful.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

It's the brass that is turning inside the plastic though. I would do it that way if the actual brass stripped with my bolt. I actually wished it was that! Fml.

If the manifold is plastic, use a two part epoxy, rather than the JB weld

The brass insert is also known as a Pem or atlas insert. Google it and get the same thread pitch, drill out the old 1 and install new 1, or just use JB Weld like you already said!

2 part jb weld worked like a charm (for now). It's heat resistant up to 300* so I'm sure it will have to be replaced like m6 stated. Thanks for lookin out brotha. I'll have to do that in time. I'd rather do it the right way. Just glad it's working out for now
