Default remove stock fbody regulator for return system question

so im putting my lonnies dual pump back in. im going to make it a return style system run a -8an feed and use my stock feed as return. quick question the factory regulator is the green looking being hold in by a metal clip that goes into the return plastic line up top. my question is do you also remove the black plastic part that the regulator is housed in? or just pop out the regulator like i did and put the bucket assembly right back in?

If you take some time cutting, you can remove the entire regulator housing assembly and you'll end up with what is in the attached pics. This way the returned fuel will shoot straight back down in to the bucket, keeping your pumps submersed if your fuel level gets low.
